AANS will be hosting a one day Judge Certification Course on June 27which will be free of charge for participants (location and start time to be confirmed). All clubs should have, as a minimum, one club level judge. In order to have a solid foundation/understanding of Archery Canada rules, participants are asked to complete three on-line judges tests/assignments prior to attending the course. The following are links to the assignments and reference material:
These tests will help the participants become familiar with the rules, common safety practices and procedures used in Canada so they can advise club members and help ensure the safety and fairness of club events. The assignments are quite lengthy and if you’re not able to completely finish the tests, you are still eligible to attend the course. Please print them off and bring the assignments with you on June 27 so they can be reviewed by the judge instructors.
After completion of the course, participants will be required to observe/shadow a judge at two shoots and would then be asked to judge a shoot under the guidance of one of our National Judge Candidates.
This may be a good opportunity for parents of archers to become involved in the sport if they are interested in archery but are not interested in shooting.
